Performance and Opportunities

Ages 3 - 15

The kids have numerous opportunities to perform and participate in events throughout the year, both locally in Islington and throughout the country. They have given performances and won events like Boroughs United. Our youngsters appeared on BBC One's The One Show. We have played at private events ranging from festivals and council-hosted events to boat and birthday parties.

Some of our young people are featured on the number 1 selling album by Michael Kinwanuka, produced by Inflo. Our children are frequently visited by Leona Lewis The X Factor winner 2006.

Junior Drum and Dance Sessions 5-8 Year Old's

We deliver these sought after sessions for children of this age group in order to develop their coordination, confidence and gain ability to work as a team by appearing in public performances.

These practise sessions for kids aged 5-8yrs include teaching drumming, dancing routines and motions, as well as giving them the freedom to express themselves and participate in creating their own dance routines.

These sessions are also held at the Chestnuts Community Hall in Highbury Grange, Highbury Barn. They are attended weekly. The children in this class will again continue to develop and progress until they reach the age of 8 years old to which they will progress to the Advanced Drum and Dance class which is held at 2pm - 4pm on Saturday.

Under 5s Integrated Music & Drum Sessions

Children under the age of five are welcome to attend our Saturday practise sessions, which are held at Highbury Grange, Highbury Park's Chestnuts Community Hall.

The session concentrates on playing and learning drum patterns, rhythms and language, participating in nursery rhymes as well as learning the alphabet, numbers and colours. These sessions last for 30 minutes. They are attended by between 10-15 children weekly. Parents and carers also are welcome to attend.

The infants and young children in this class continue to grow and develop until they are 5 years old or are able to understand the drum language in order to advance to the Junior Drum and Dance classes, which are also conducted on Saturdays and are for children ages 5-8.

Help us continue to offer these classes by making a donation!

This is incredibly helpful, and we appreciate all of your generosity.
